Don’t let the devil win,
Don’t entertain those evil thoughts,
Don’t shut the world out,
Don’t dwell on would have, could have, should have,
Don’t beat yourself up about it,
Don’t despair…
That’s what the devil wants,
That’s what the depression expects,
That’s what will give power to your enemy,
That’s what will fuel self-loathing,
That’s what will give them something to gossip about,
That’s what will eat you alive…
Look up for resilience,
Look around for support,
Look inside for that extra bit of strength,
Look for alternatives,
Look for shielding wisdom,
Look for a way forward…
Each effort to pick up the pieces and restore yourself to be able to boldly face the world is an effort that is loosening you from the shackles that bound you to what constantly drains the life out of you!
